I went to the desert this weekend (should have gone to dessert instead) but I have yet to muster the energy to type out the experience. Plus I’m a horrible photographer so most of my photos aren’t really publishable.
But I haven’t updated in awhile, so here is a really interesting analysis of high school leadership conferences from the only news source that I read these days (outside of Gawker?), the New York Times.
I always wondered about these programs and I was deeply fascinated by the invitations that I got in the mail. I also had very little else going on in my life at the time. (not much has changed)
I’ll reserve my judgement for now, mainly because I sort of accepted a position as a residential counselor in a high school summer camp, so it’s best to just shut up and avoid becoming one of those examples of losing a job by being an idiot online.
Anyways, it’s a good story and I think it merits some thought, just not thoughts that I should necessarily type out for all 6 or 7 of my readers to see.
Exhibit B was going to be a video from “Mixed Company,” some sort of group at Yale that did an East Asian spoof of it, but alas, they realized what exactly they published on the internet and pulled the video. Sigh.
